CHILE –
Altiplano Minerals of Edmonton, Alta., and joint venture partner with
Comet Exploration have advanced plans at the historic Farellon copper-gold mine near the town of La Serena. The project is located in the coastal iron-ore-copper-gold belt that hosts several large deposit.
Development has begun on cross-cuts to reach the copper-gold vein system. Three are three discreet veins – Farellon, Laura and Rosario – that strike northeast for more than 1.2 km. The veins are reached via a 500-metre exploration drift. Farellon is the initial target. Bulk sampling is underway, but a maiden resource estimate has yet to be made.
