(Image: AME BC)[/caption] VANCOUVER – The 36th annual Mineral Exploration Roundup sponsored by the AME BC will be held in this city from Jan. 28 to 31, 2019. The theme is “Elements for Discovery”. The important topics include:
  • The role of mineral exploration for a low-carbon future. Many of the minerals and metals required for renewable energy generation and battery storage are explored or produced in B.C.
  • British Columbia’s copper advantage as the largest producer of copper in Canada.
  • The importance of First Nations partnerships and best practices for early engagement.
  • Industry innovations and partnerships with emerging technologies.
Notable speakers include John Thompson, a professor at Cornell University; Chad Day, the president of the Tahltan Central Government, and AME president and CEO Edie Thome. The weekend before the Roundup begins, three short courses, information for students, and a reception are planned.
