TURKEY - ELDORADO GOLD of Vancouver has ordered two more cone crushers for its Kisladag gold mine. Finland's METSO MINERALS will supply an MP800 and an MP1000 cone crusher to the project in western Turkey. In July of 2004 Eldorado bought a 5065 Superior gyratory and two MP800 Nordberg cone crushers for Phase I of the US$83.4-million project.
Kisladag is an open pit, heap leach gold mine and will be the largest gold mine in Turkey when it begins producing gold. Commissioning of the first phase is scheduled for the first quarter of 2006, with the operation producing 144,000 oz of gold in its first year and 240,000 oz annually thereafter during a mine life of 14 years. Kisladag has 5.1 million oz of proven and probable gold reserves.
Phase II will begin in year two of operations and will entail expanding the crushing circuit to increase production throughput to the final design capacity of 10 million tonnes/year. Annual output would increase to 240,000 oz/year when expansion is complete.
