IDAHO –
eCobalt Solutions of Vancouver continues to advance construction on its Idaho cobalt project near the town of Salmon. The project is on time and on budget.
When completed this will be the only near term, environmentally permitted primary cobalt deposit in the United States. The water treatment plant building is finished. The ponds (September) and tailings waste storage facility (October) are nearing completion. Installation of the pump back system pipes is 65% complete. The bulk fuel storage and distribution system is done. Construction began on Sept. 6 for the surface mobile equipment maintenance facility. Building the mill foundation began on Sept. 10.
The company is directing most of its attention to finalizing all environmental systems at the site in preparation for underground mine development to start in early 2019. Commercial production is expected in 2020.
eCobalt is exploring several project financing options. Interest is strong, but the company does not expect an alliance to be made before the optimized feasibility study has been completed.
