QUEBEC - RICHMONT MINES of Montreal has restarted production at its Beaufor gold mine 25 km northeast of Val d'Or. Production was suspended in mid-July so that the 20-year-old headframe could be replaced. Mining resumed on Aug. 21, and the Camflo mill resumed ore treatment on Sept. 6, 2007.
Active mining areas are now located near the Beaufor fault. The exploration drilling program at the mine has been increased to 25,000 metres this year in an attempt to locate additional ore zones.
A technical report and a diagram of the Beaufor mine are available at www.Richmont-Mines.com.
