Latest drill results from Benchmark Metals’ (TSXV: BNCH) road-accessible Lawyers gold-silver project in north-central B.C. include long mineralized intervals from the southern portion of the AGB zone within the 140-sq.-km property. The explorer is working on an updated resource estimate for the property, which would be followed by a preliminary economic assessment in the second quarter.

Today's release inlucdes assay results for five drillholes, three of which were completed to infill and test continuity of mineralization within the zone’s south part.

Two of these three holes tested shallower mineralization while a third targeted its deeper extents. From these two drillholes, the most notable intercept is hole 20AGBDD046, which returned 122 metres of 1.3 g/t gold and 32.16 g/t silver (1.7 g/t gold-equivalent) starting at 3 metres. The second shallow hole hit 71.9 metres of 1.21 g/t gold and 36.4 g/t silver (1.66 g/t gold-equivalent) from 3 metres; while the deeper intercept returned 55 metres of 1.61 g/t gold and 14.04 g/t silver (1.79 g/t gold-equivalent) from 121 metres.

These latest zones of mineralization are 175 metres away from any underground workings at the site. Drilling to date has defined near-surface gold-silver over 650 metres of strike and to a vertical depth of 270 metres at AGB. AGB remains open.

Commenting on these results, CEO John Williamson noted the “continuity and consistent grade” of AGB and highlighted its potential to contribute near-surface ounces to an upcoming resource.

“This growing zone has the potential to provide open-pittable gold and silver ounces that will add substantial ounces to the upcoming mineral resource estimate. The company awaits additional results from AGB that could increase the total tonnage in this zone,” Williamson said in a release.

Benchmark is planning to drill up to 100,000 metres at Lawyers in 2021.
