QUEBEC - SNC-LAVALIN has been awarded the contract for a feasibility study of the Explo-Zinc deposit at the Kistabiche property belonging to CANCOR MINES of Montreal. The project is located near Joutel, Que., and is a 50:50 joint venture with SOQUEM.
The Explo-Zinc deposit was discovered in 1963. Former owner Consolidated Northern Exploration sunk a 389-m-deep shaft and cut drifts on three levels. It also estimated historical resources to be 960,000 tonnes averaging 7.13% Zn, 0.69% Cu and 31.0 g/t Ag. Cancor plans on custom milling the ore should the deposit be put into production.
The Cancor website is www.Cancor.ca, but it was not accessible at press time.
