WHISTLER, British Columbia - Charles F. Gower of the Newfoundland & Labrador Geological Survey has been awarded the 2007 Provincial Geologists Medal. The award was made on Sept. 24, 2007 at the Energy and Mines Minister's Conference held at Whistler.
Dr. Gower was cited for his 28 years of "energy, intellectual rigour, stamina and passion." He is an expert on the eastern half of the Grenville Prince in Labrador, having mapped more than 100,000 km2 and produced hundreds of papers, maps and presentations.
