MONTREAL – Roger Doucet, a director of Colibri Resource Corp. of Dieppe, N.B., is this year’s winner of the Nicholas Denys medal for his prospecting career and the contribution he has made to mineral exploration and development in Quebec. He received the award at the EXPLOR 2019 conference held by the Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) last month in Montreal. Doucet worked for Lac Minerals from 1975 to 1988, and during that time he discovered the Bousquet #1 gold mine. He was also involved in the discovery of the Doyon gold mine. He won the Prospector of the Year award in 1978 for his work at these projects. He was also in charge of re-evaluating the East Malartic and Canadian Malartic gold deposits, work that led to the discovery of large, low grade gold mine. Learn more about the AEMQ at www.AEMQ.org.
