COPENHAGEN and STOCKHOLM – FLSmidth is acquiring a part of Sandvik Mining Systems. The deal includes continuous surface mining and minerals handling technologies. Sandvik said it plans to withdraw from the project  part – design and engineering of material handling systems – of the business related to mining as early as October 2015. Ongoing order and deliveries to non-mining material handling projects and some mining projects will delivered by Sandvik through an operational agreement with FLSmidth. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and should be closed by the end of 2017. FLSmidth says the pending acquisition will close a gap by covering a wider range of design, equipment and services from mine to plant to tailings, improving productivity for the company’s customers. FLSmidth plans to digitalize the full value chain to make the most of technology. Please visit either www.FLSmidth.com or www.mining.Sandvik.com.
