Northern Tiger Resources
Northern Tiger Resources Inc. is a Canadian-based resource exploration company focused on gold and copper exploration in the Yukon. The company has a portfolio of gold and copper focused projects in the Yukon, including 3Ace (high-grade gold discovery made in 2010), Sprogge, Sonora Gulch and five properties prospective for Minto-style high-grade copper mineralization. Through its exploration alliance with Capstone Mining Corp.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Minto Explorations Ltd., Northern Tiger benefits from a wide range of experience, knowledge and capabilities from early exploration to mine production.
Highlights from the $6-million exploration program in 2011 at 3Ace include 28 drill holes with the primary focus of drilling being the Main Zone, plus three additional targets were tested.
Prospecting in 2011 has identified nine additional new mineralized occurrences on 3Ace, and a new 3 km trend of alteration and sulphide mineralization on Sprogge (an adjacent property). Main Zone drill highlights (from 2011/2010) include: 35.0 m of 4.6 g/t Gold; 30.3 m of 4.3 g/t Gold, and 1.05 m of 145.2 g/t Gold.
A new 1,500 m by 250 m gold-in-soil anomaly (the Kaiser Trend) has been identified, and the Green Zone East target has been expanded to 1,250 m by 500 m. A number of gold-in-soil anomalies at 3Ace have been traced directly to proximal outcrops of quartz pebble conglomerate containing gold-bearing quartz veins. The 3Ace property remains highly prospective for additional high grade gold discoveries. 3Ace/Sprogge claim block is now in excess of 225 km2. With the core area measuring 9 km2, 95% of the property remains to be explored. A recent silt survey has identified 12 drainages outside of the core area that returned significantly anomalous gold-in-silts.
