Golden Predator Corp
Golden Predator has a mandate to be the leading gold property explorer and developer in Yukon and “why not?” says Company Chairman and CEO William M. Sheriff, as he keeps up his relentless search for more Yukon gold.
With six active gold projects and more than 1,800 km2 of land already under the Golden Predator flag, the company has left few stones unturned as it continues to prospect and acquire more properties throughout the Territory, including an aggressive staking program that has been underway during this winter across the Yukon.
From its original 16,160-ha Brewery Creek property, an easy 55-km drive east of Dawson City, to its rapidly advancing Grew Creek Project along the Tintina Fault, to the Clear Creek project in the heart of the Tombstone Gold Belt. Golden Predator is drilling almost everywhere. In fact, Sheriff says he is drilling year round, breaking for the months of December and January. He constantly sticks it out longer than many simply because of his passion for and challenge of the search for gold. With exceptional results at road-accessible Grew Creek and Brewery Creek, he can drill year-round.
Extensive drill programs are already in place for 2011 at Clear Creek, Grew Creek and Brewery Creek, with drilling planned for its new Harlan property, and preliminary ground work on its Rogue properties in the emerging Selwyn Basin district. More than 22,000 m of drilling took place last year as part of the company’s $7 million exploration program and based on the company’s track record, those numbers will be higher in 2011.
Here’s a quick look at a few of the company’s projects.
As mentioned earlier, the Tintina Gold Belt, which spans Yukon and Alaska, is one of the richer gold-bearing mineral districts anywhere and that’s where Golden Predator’s Clear Creek, Brewery Creek, Grew Creek, Gold Dome and Harlanprojects are located.
Brewery Creek had a new discovery in the Bohemian Zone in November, including 50.5 m of 2.79 g/t Au and 56.5m of 3.20 g/t Au. Combine this with a current NI 43-101 Indicated 3.98 mm tonnes Au @ 1.135 gpt (0.038 opt) and Inferred 2.20 mm tonnes Au @ 2.01 gpt (0.059 opt) using cut-off grade of 0.5 gpt Au, existing permits and a production license and you understand why Sheriff is pushing to update the 43-101 in 2011.
The Clear Creek project also had a new discovery in 2010 including 2.59 g/t Au over 25.91 m starting at 10.67 m depth and 137.50 g/t Au over 1.52 m from a depth of 3.05 m. A 43-101 in 2011 is planned for this discovery.
Another 2010 discovery came from the Carlos Zone at Grew Creek. This project is adjacent to a highway, 25 km from Faro with a power line over the property. The Carlos Zone with three new test holes offered up great results with the best intercept being 1.72 g/t Au over 146.3. A 43-101 resource will be compiled in 2011.
In 2010, aggressive staking brought them the massive Rogue block and Cynthia project in the newly emerging Selwyn Basin. A continued commitment to expanding its property holding and on-going staking programs, Golden Predator offers up a large asset base in its quest to be the leading gold explorer and developer in the Yukon.
Just when you think it is looking pretty solid going forward, the Company announces that Mike Burke of the Yukon Geological Survey, who has likely seen more Yukon mineralization than anyone else and is renowned for his advocacy of the Yukon, will become its Chief Geologist.
“Being in the Yukon is like being in Nevada when the Carlin trend was identified but knowing what is coming. If you see the potential and know what is possible, how much of this would you want?” concludes William M. Sheriff.
