35th Un-A-Hauler coal hauler placed
Its battery-powered 816C Un-A-Hauler is attracting new and repeat customers, says Bucyrus. The 35th such unit recently went into service in a coal mine. This high-capacity, reliable coal and material hauler ensures high productivity in room and pillar and long wall development operations.
The 816C has a superior payload capacity up to 36% larger than the competition, says Bucyrus. With true tracking geometry and 120 total steering angle, manoeuvrability is dramatically improved and haulage cycle time is decreased. This performance translates into additional saleable tonnes at a lower operating cost.
The 816C provides a safe and comfortable operator’s compartment with clear lines of sight to the front, back and across the machine. The large upgraded display shows all operating parameters at a glance with provision for fault analysis and diagnosis, allowing rapid repairs and maximizing uptime.
The 816C is equipped with the HIPAC 10 VFD drive system that was developed by Bucyrus engineering to meet strict specifications for rigorous underground duty. This system increases tram speeds up to 13.5 km/h and makes hydraulic function quicker and more responsive. The increased motor efficiency and optimization of the drive components extend the battery life while regenerative braking provides reduced brake system wear and increases battery shift life, meaning that ultimately more coal will be hauled per battery discharge.
