Northern Development Conference
June 13, 2018 - June 14, 2018
The Secretariat to the Cree Nation Abitibi-Témiscamingue Economic Alliance in collaboration with the City of Val-d’Or and the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) is pleased to present a conference entitled Northern Development. This event will be held on June 13-14, 2018 at the Hotel Forestel in Val-d’Or, Que., and will take place under the honorary co-chairs the president of the secretariat, Dr. Ted Moses and the mayor of Val-d’Or, Pierre Corbeil.
Northern Development is a conference which will prioritize important subjects of Northern Quebec and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions. Together, we will discuss in what ways Northern Quebec and Abitibi-Témiscamingue are bonded, namely the needs, challenges and issues through which these peoples become Allies. A conference rich in content and encounters.
Special event:
During the conference, the Chamber of Commerce of Val-d’Or, the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) and the Secretariat are collaborating in the organization of a fundraising gala to benefit the Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute and showcasing the traveling exhibit, Footprints: A Walk Through Generations on June 13 at the Hotel Forestel at 6:00 p.m.
The Gala is a fundraising event that showcases the new Aanischaaukamikw traveling exhibition Footprints: A Walk Through Generations. The event is in support of Aanischaaukamikw and will serve to strengthen links between the business community of Val-d’Or and their Cree neighbors. This Fundraising Gala will be an opportunity for everyone to participate in an evening focussed on entertainment and cultural exchange.
