The new FOXBORO A2 automated process control system is economical, easy-to-use and expandable, according to INVENSYS. This distributed control system (DCS) features architecture from ArchestrA. The Foxboro A2 combines the best of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and DCS for less investment than traditional DCSs.
The Foxboro A2 is designed for the user. It accepts a variety of controller options including full PID, IEC 1131 and ISA S88. It features Invensys' Wonderware InTouch human-machine interface for the entire system, as well as built-in operator interfaces for local control. Software comes in modules, making it possible to add specific functions on an as-needed basis.
