Beauce Gold Fields (TSXV: BGF) reports it has dredged placer gold material grading 2.16 g/m3 from glacial till at its Ditton project near the town of Chartierville in southern Quebec. The sample was only 28 litres taken from a water-filled trench at the site.
The grades are significantly better than average for placer gold projects in North America.
“This is a positive sign because we have discovered high-grade placers both at the surface and at a deeper levels in the quarry pit, which suggests that the Ditton placer gold channel could be a substantial deposit," said Patrick Levasseur, Beauce president and CEO. "This development has increased our goal to assess the possibility of an economically viable placer gold deposit, as well as to look for signs that could lead to future discoveries of bedrock lode gold."
Other recent samples from the Ditton project included 0.64 g/m3 (30 litres), 0.69 g/m3 (25 litres), and 0.61 g/m3 (32 litres).
Beauce is awaiting assays from 10 sonic drill holes completed last fall and will report the results when they become available.
The company also has a flagship placer property known as Beauce, and about 20 phosphate projects in Quebec. Visit www.BeauceGold.com to learn more.

The abbreviation “g/t” is GRAMS per tonne, not GRAINS per tonne. One grain is one-480th of aTtroy ounce. 24 grains equals one pennyweight and 20 pennyweights equal one Troy ounce.
These Troy measures (apart from Troy ounces) went out of fashion more than 40 years. ago.
