The Pamour gold mine started operations in 1936. While it was open, the owners also operated other mines such as the McIntyre, Ross, Hollinger, Night Hawk, and Aunor.
The company, having gone bankrupt and closing in 1999, left employees with no pensions or severance. That year, to boost morale at Christmas, we had a reunion. With the generous help from volunteers, The organizer J.P. Rozon was able to distribute over 240 food baskets.
Every year since then, there has been a reunion of former employees who reminisce and celebrate their mining heritage in Timmins. This year is the 20th anniversary. The reunion will be held on November 22, at 7pm, at the Albert's Hotel, 122 Mountjoy Street South, Timmins, Ont..
For more information please contact J.P. Rozon, reunion organizer, at 705-267-5370.
