GOLD-SILVER: Benchmark hits 132.5 g/t Au and 8,560 g/t Ag at Lawyers’ Phoenix zone

(Image: Benchmark Metals)[/caption] BRITISH COLUMBIA – Benchmark Metals of Edmonton, Alta., has hit bonanza grades in the first hole it drilled this year at the Phoenix zone at its Lawyers gold-silver project. The property hosts the former Lawyers gold-silver mine that produced 171,200 oz. of gold and 3.6 million oz. of silver from 1989 to 1992. It is about 45 km northwest of the former Kemess South copper-gold mine. Hole 19PXDD001 intersected 132.5 g/t gold and 8,560 g/t silver over 0.9 metre within a longer intersection of 2.87 metres that assayed 46.9 g/t gold and 3,055.5 g/t silver. (True width is estimated to be 80% to 90% of the core lengths mentioned here.) Only a small amount of mining was done earlier in the Phoenix zone. When it was mined, the ore graded 38.56 g/t gold and 1,700 g/t silver. The current hole (-001) intersected bonanza grades below the historical workings.
