The paper, “A High Rate Mechanical Flotation Cell for Base Metal Applications," explains how the efficiency of the industrial flotation process can be significantly improved by using the principle of a two-stage unit. Eriez’ StackCell product line is designed using this approach. The paper explains why this approach is so beneficial and includes two industrial case studies which highlight the potential metallurgical and commercial advantages of the StackCell. The paper also covers scale-up criteria, maintenance and operability issues, layout and cost savings. The paper was created through the collaboration of five Eriez executives. In addition to Wasmund, Eriez Flotation Division authors include senior process engineer Homie Thanasekaran, process engineer Nee San Yap, technical director Eric Yan as well as executive VP of global technology Michael Mankosa.
