MINING PEOPLE: Metso, Western Potash

Kirsch is the new president of Metso’s mining equipment business and a member of the company’s executive team. He joined the company last year as senior VP, business and product management in the mining equipment department. Kirsch replaces Victor Tapia who will take on another role with the company before leaving the company. Metso’s head office in in Helsinki, Finland. Western Potash of Vancouver has named Fritz Venter its new president and CEO. He has also been tapped as COO and a director of parent company Western Resources. Venter will lead the team developing the Milestone potash project in Saskatchewan.
