QUEBEC – Toronto-based
Iamgold Corp. has released the latest results from the winter drill program at its Lac Gamble zone at the Rouyn gold project 4 km south of the town of Rouyn-Noranda. The project is optioned from
Yorbeau Resources.
Iamgold highlighted these results:
- Hole GA-19-682: 12.0 metres grading 3.56 g/t gold, including 0 metres grading 5.33 g/t;
- Hole GA-19-690: 7.8 metres grading 11.02 g/t gold, including 5.0 metres grading 15.44 g/t’ and
- Hole GA-19-692: 10.6 metres grading 8.21 g/t gold, including 3.0 metres grading 12.37 g/t gold, and including 1.0 metre grading 26.9 g/t.
The winter drill program spaced holes on a 50 x 50-metre grid to infill a portion of the zone previously drilled by Yorbeau and various joint venture partners. The holes intersected the sheared Cadillac-Piche corridor that hosts the mineralized zone. Visible gold occurs associated with minor sulphides in quartz-tourmaline veinlets.
The winter drill results along with geological, geochemical and structural information will be used to model the deposit and support a resource estimate for the Lac Gamble zone.
