MINING PEOPLE: Kirkland Lake Gold, Mountain Province, Niobay Metals, and Precipitate Gold

Kirkland Lake Gold of Toronto has hired Eric Kallio as senior VP exploration. Duties of current executives were also reassigned: John Landmark becomes VP human resources, Pierre Rocque becomes VP technical services, and Duncan King becomes GM Canadian operations. Toronto-based Mountain Province Diamonds has chosen Tom McCandless as its new VP exploration. He has over 40 years of experience, including direct involvement in the discovery of the Ekati and Renard diamond mines. More recently, he was a director at Kennady Diamonds Corp., which Mountain Province acquired earlier this year. Jacquelin Gauthier is the new VP geology at Niobay Metals in Longueuil, Que. He graduated from Universite du Quebec at Chicoutimi with a degree in geological engineering. Precipitate Gold of Vancouver has named Mejico Angeles-Lithgow as an advisor and consultant to the company. His is the former president and executive director of Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo mine.
