(Image: SGS Canada)[/caption] QUEBEC – SGS Canada is opening a new sample preparation facility in Val-d'Or. The new laboratory is strategically located to service the growing needs of the minerals exploration industry in Quebec. Earlier this month, SGS opened a sample preparation facility in Whitehorse, YT. "Our new Val-d'Or lab strengthens SGS' footprint in Canada and, importantly, enables SGS to service mining organizations in Quebec through a local facility," said Lawrence Ng, VP of minerals at SGS Canada. The facility is equipped to provide drying, grinding, crushing, pulverizing and soil screening capabilities. Sample preparation can be completed on core samples, reverse circulation chips, rock samples, trench samples and soil samples. This new onsite hot metal laboratory complements other labs across Canada in Lakefield, Cochrane, Red Lake and Sudbury, Ont.; Whitehorse, Yukon; and Vancouver, BC.
