(Image: Epiroc)[/caption] SUDBURY, Ont. – As demand for exploration drilling remains strong, Norcat has launched a new training program for surface and underground diamond driller assistants as part of the Common Core curriculum. The first five-week program will begin Aug. 13, 2018. The new program was developed by Norcat and complies with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities requirements. It will cover the fundamental knowledge and skills to become a competent driller’s assistant. The program has both theory and practical, hands-on training in an operating mine environment in Sudbury. Major topics covered include the latest in health and safety, environmental protection, use of equipment, and recovery and  handling of core samples. The next generation of diamond drilling equipment will also be introduced. For more information about the program, or to register, please contact the Norcat information line at 705-521-8324 ext.404 and visit www.Norcat.org.
