MINING PEOPLE: Aura Silver, Denison, and Desert Lion

Aura Silver Resources of Ottawa announced the appointment of Robert Johansing as president and CEO. He has extensive knowledge of the company’s Taviche, Mexico, project where he acted as lead exploration geologist and country manager from 2006 to 2011. The president and CEO of Denison Mines, David Cates, has been appointed to the board of directors and executive committee of the Canadian Nuclear Association. Toronto-based Desert Lion Energy has named Johan Coetzee its new COO. He has more than 20 years of experience in Namibia where the company is exploring for lithium. Coetzee is also a past VP and president of the Namibian Chamber of Mines (2015-18).
