GOLD-SILVER: Moss mine ahead of schedule for Northern Vertex

(Image: Northern Vertex Mining)[/caption] ARIZONA – Vancouver-based Northern Vertex Mining says the Moss gold-silver mine continues to meet or exceed the design targets during commissioning. The open pit and heap leach operations is located in Mojave County. The mill produced 1,276 oz. of gold and 3,556 oz. of silver in May as ramp up got underway. The gold is being recovered in less than the 100-day leaching cycle suggested in the feasibility study. The 40-tonne haul trucks now in use are to be replaced with 70-tonne trucks, further increasing the mining rate. The crushing crew reported a “best shift” of 5,297 tonnes and a “best day” of 8,261 tonnes of ore crushed and stacked in May. That is a substantial overage compared to the feasibility study’s average of 3,500 t/d in month seven from start-up to the expected 5,000 t/d in month 13 and through the remaining mine life. The Moss deposit contained 15.5 million measured and indicated tonnes grading 0.76 g/t gold and 9.3 g/t silver for 377,000 contained oz. of gold and 4.6 million oz. of silver.
