DIAMONDS: Drill results from Southwest corridor at Gahcho Kue

(Image: Mountain Province Diamonds)[/caption] NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – Mountain Province Diamonds of Toronto has relayed the full drilling results from the Southwest corridor at the Gahcho Kue mine near Lac de Gras. The mine is a joint venture of Mountain Province (49%) and De Beers Canada (51% and operator). The Southwest corridor lies between the 5034 and Hearne pipes. The diamondiferous kimberlite in the corridor has not yet been included in the project resources. Drilling was conducted on a 50- by 50-metre grid in 18  holes. Mountain Province said the corridor kimberlite is composed of two facies – a kimberlite unit and a kimberlite granite breccia. A resource estimate for the Southwest corridor will be made this year. Drilling continues to test the potential extension of the Hearne pipe between the North and South lobes. It will also test the corridor between the 5034 and Tuzo pipes; the North Pipe kimberlite in this area is open in all directions. A ground gravity target between Tesla and Tuzo will also be drilled.
