Last year,
Osisko Metals (TSX: OM) acquired more than 50,000 hectares in the historic Bathurst Mining Camp of New Brunswick with the objective of developing a multi-deposit asset base focused on zinc that would feed a central concentrator.
“On the back of that, they raised a lot of capital,” Christian Kargl-Simard, president and CEO of
Adventus Zinc (TSXV: ADZN), says. “It was a huge success right out of the gate.”
Now Kargl-Simard and his counterparts at
Canstar Resources (TSXV: ROX) and
Altius Minerals (TSX: ALS) hope to accomplish something similar by consolidating their base metal assets in neighbouring Newfoundland.
