BRITISH COLUMBIA – The latest results from phase 2 of drilling at the Island Mountain project of Toronto-based
Barkerville Gold Mines are promising. Infill drilling cut 7.27 g/t gold over 12.5 metres.
The Island Mountain property is part of the company’s wholly owned Cariboo gold project 400 km northeast of Vancouver.
Although true widths are not available, other noteworthy numbers from the recent program include:
- IM-17-217: 7.28 g/t gold over 12.5 meters;
- IM-17-217: 16.67 g/t over 5.2 meters;
- IM-17-219: 12.40 g/t over 7.0 meters;
- IM-17-223: 11.15 g/t over 7.3 meters; and
- IM-17-224: 8.71 g/t over 3.0 meters.
Barkerville says the results have allowed it to trace the Island Mountain mineralization to a vertical depth of 400 metres with wide corridors intersected at depth in the Shaft zone. Horizontal widths of the zones vary from 5 to 35 metres.
The company hopes to begin development at Island Mountain this year and complete a feasibility study including that property as well as Cow Mountain.
