MINING PEOPLE: Conquest Resources, Giyani Metals, and Trevali Mining

Toronto-based Conquest Resources has appointed Benjamin Batson its new president and CEO. A graduate of Queen’s University, he joined the company in 2009 as VP exploration. Robin Birchall is now CEO and a director of Giyani Metals Corp. in Oakville, Ont. Most recently he as an executive of Silver Bear Resources. Birchall holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town. [caption id="attachment_1003721130" align="alignleft" width="226"] Bryant Schwengler.[/caption] Trevali Mining Corp. has strengthened its senior team with the addition of several members. Paul Keller, who was the company’s COO since 2011, is now VP major projects and technical support. Bryant Schwengler, formerly the general manager of the Caribou zinc mine, becomes the new COO. Gerbrand Van Heerden becomes senior VP business initiate and develop, after his sting as CFO at Rosh Pinah Zinc.
