MISSOULA, Mont.  – The Washington Companies has completed the plan of arrangement making Dominion Diamond Corp. of Calgary a standalone, private company and member of the Washington group. Patrick Evans, formerly of Mountain Province Diamonds, has been named Dominion president and CEO, and Rolin Erickson, president of Washington-owned Montana Resources, has taken a seat on the board. Dominion operates two diamond mines in Canada – the country’s first producer Ekati and the Diavik mines. The Ekati project includes the currently mined and other permitted kimberlite pipes of the Core zone and an adjacent area that  hosts the Jay and Lynx pipes. Other pipes with potential include Fox Deep, Misery Deep and Jay underground. Adjacent to the Diavik project Dominion (55%) is a joint venture partner with North Arrow Minerals (45%). The joint venture property is located between Ekati and Diavik.
