Rubicon Minerals Corp. has taken the opportunity to update results of its current exploration program at its Phoenix gold project in the Red Lake district.
The company has been conducting a structural drilling program to evaluate additional east-west trending quartz-breccia veins. The results:
- Hole 244-17-04: 115.19 g/t gold over 11.1 metres, including 758.70 g/t over 1.7 metre;
- Hole 244-17-07: 5.33 g/t gold over 7.1 metres, including 14.17 g/t over 1.8 metre;
- Hole 305-17-01: 15.32 g/t gold over 2.3 metres, including 23.40 g/t over 1.5 metre;
- Hole 305-17-06: 6.83 g/t gold over 12.6 metres, including 29.70 g/t over 1.7 metre; and
- Hole 305-17-09: 58.22 g/t gold over 7.4 metres, including 199.66 g/t over 2.1 metres.
Infill and step-out drilling is also being done with the objective of potentially upgrading and enlarging the mineral resource estimate made in 2016. High grades again:
- Hole 305-17-14: 8.09 g/t gold over 8.6 metres, including 22.27 g/t over 2.9 metres;
- Hole 305-17-15: 8.54 g/t gold over 10.8 metres, including 21.90 g/t over 1.5 metre and 23.31 g/t over 1.9 metre;
- Hole 305-17-16: 6.72 g/t gold over 6. 2 metres, including 16.38 g/t over 1.8 metre;
- Hole 305-17-18: 6.13 g/t gold over 10.0 metres, including 9.50 g/t over 3.7 metres;
- Hole 305-17-19: 7.78 g/t over 4.7 metres;
- Hole 305-17-20: 21.52 g/t gold over 4.7 metres, including 44.02 g/t over 1.5 metre;
- Hole 305-17-22: 9.78 g/t gold over 8.7 metres, including 13.65 g/t over 5.9 metres;
- Hole 610-17-01: 6.70 g/t gold over 4.0 metres, including 15.14 g/t gold over 1.7 metre;
- Hole 610-17-04: 9.75 g/t gold over 5.5 metres, including 16.83 g/t gold over 3.0 metres;
- Hole 610-17-06: 12.89 g/t gold over 6.5 metres, including 17.73 g/t over 4.6 metres; and
- Hole 610-17-08: 5.21 g/t gold over 9.3 metres, including 7.56 g/t over 4.1 metres.
Rubicon said most of its gold intercepts have been within the area covered by the most recent resource block model. The company says its structural mapping and logging of both historical and new core has allowed it to advance its understanding of the Phoenix deposit.
Last year Rubicon was forced to abandon test mining at Phoenix when its ran out of money, and contained gold in the resource estimate plunged 91% from the one prepared in 2013.
