BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver’s
EnGold Mines continues to drill the copper-rich skarn it discovered at Lac La Hache last year, and the assays are promising. Hole G17-23, located 112 metres west-southwest from discovery hole, has intersected 18.75 metres grading 1.13 % copper, 0.14 g/t gold, 5.55 g/t silver and 26.23% iron.

The hole cut several well mineralized intervals within the 18.75 metres of core:
- 85 metres of 1.13% copper, 0.15 g/t gold, 9.13 g/t silver, 37.48% iron;
- 00 metres of 1.69% copper, 0.20 g/t gold, 13.50 g/t silver, 36.70% iron;
- 29 metre of 5.44% copper, 0.54 g/t gold, 19.80 g/t silver, 30.80% iron;
- 22 metre of 1.37% copper, 0.47 g/t gold, 5.70 g/t silver, 28.00% iron; plus
- 60 metre of 1.46% copper, 0.26 g/t gold. 7.00 g/t silver, 26.00% iron.
According to the company, mineralization from G17-23 core is typical of the skarn replacement style defined by earlier drilling in the discovery area, with magnetite-chalcopyrite replacement of calcsilicate-tourmaline altered basaltic polylithic volcanic breccia containing sub-rounded, partially digested clasts (up to 6 cm), locally including limestone.
EnGold has temporarily halted work at Lac La Hache because of the extreme forest fire danger.
