(Credit: Pretium Resources)[/caption] BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver-based Pretium Resources has declared commercial production at its first gold mine – the high grade Brucejack project 65 km north of Stewart. The Valley of the Kings deposit contains 8.1 million oz. of gold in proven and probable reserves of 15.6 million tonnes grading 16.1 g/t gold. The official date for production is July 1, 2017. During June 2017 the Brucejack mill treated an average of 2,360 t/d, 87.4% of its nameplate capacity (2,700 t/d). The underground Brucejack mine poured its first gold two weeks ago. The company says its operators have begun introducing higher grade ore to the mill as work continues to optimize recoveries in the gravity and flotation circuits. More information about the Brucejack project are available at www.Pretivm.com.
