GOLD: Red Pine drills extension of Minto mine structure

ONTARIO – As Toronto-based Red Pine Exploration continues drilling at its Wawa gold project, the company has reason to believe it has intersected an extension of the former Minto mine structure 1 km to the south, in the vicinity of the former Parkhill mine. Credit: Red Pine Exploration.[/caption] Red Pine says it has seen indications that a high grade gold-bearing zone could exist in the Minto structure between the two old mines. Visible gold was observed in the down-plunge extension of the Minto mine south quartz zone. Hole PH-17-71 returned 2.65 g/t gold over 3.0 metres from the No.4 vein in the Minto structure. Hole PH-17-70 in the Parkhill structure returned 6.23 g/t gold over 1.51 metres, 1.77 g/t over 2.32 metres, and 2.98 g/t over 1.0 metre. Red Pine has already released a 43-101 inferred resource for the largest deposit – Surluga – at the Wawa project. It is thought to be 19.82 million tonnes grading 1.71 g/t gold (0.5 g/t cut-off) and containing almost 1.1 million oz. of gold. The mineralization is near surface and open in all directions.
