BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver-based
Ascot Resources can’t help hitting bonanza grades at its Premier gold project near Stewart. The latest huge assay is 1,135.00 g/t gold over 0.50 metre – a grade more common in silver mines.
That result came from hole P17-1269 in a new portion of the Northern Lights Main zone. The hole returned a width of 71.05 metres grading 8.54 g/t gold (0.79 g/t cut to 1 oz.), 6.8 g/t silver and 0.19% zinc. Within that intersection was included 36.31 metres of 36.31 g/t gold (2.23 g/t cut), 20.6 g/t silver and 0.23% zinc, and separately the half-metre that assayed 1,135.00 g/t gold (34.29 g/t cut), 577.0 g/t silver and 0.10% zinc.
Other results for from the Northern Lights Main zone did not disappoint. Hole P17-1271 returned 84.2 g/t gold over 1.50 metres within a broader area of 4.45 g/t gold over 32.00 metres.
Good results from the down-dip extension of the 602 zone, for example 17.60 g/t gold within a broader intersection of 3.68 g/t over 12.00 metres in hole P17-12787.
Premier believes the former gold producer could be redeveloped as a large scale open pit mine. Underground mining has not been ruled out.
