DIAMONDS: De Beers supports artisanal miners with new grant to DDI

OTTAWA – The Diamond Development Initiative has received what it calls another “significant” contribution from the De Beers Group of Companies. The money will be used to promote responsible production [caption id="attachment_1003718168" align="alignright" width="223"] One DDI initiative is to provide education programs for artisanal miners[/caption] and improve the lives and conditions of artisanal diamond miners and their families. No announcement was made as to the amount of the grant. De Beers has been supporting the work of DDI since 2008.
