SASKATCHEWAN – Regina-based Western Potash Corp. is laying out its plans for the Milestone in situ potash pilot project first proposed in 2009. The property is near the town of Kronau, 30 km southwest of Regina, where the company recently held a community open house. The company says its process will use less than half the water and less energy than conventional solution mines. Operations are to begin in 2019 with a large scale commercial plant a possibility in the future. Western Potash completed a plan of arrangement at the end of March 2017 making it a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Resources in Vancouver. A history of the work on the Milestone project is available at www.WesternPotash.com.
