SASKATCHEWAN – Assays from 20 holes drilled last year at the Harpoon discovery are returning high grades for Vancouver’s
NexGen Energy. Multiple holes have intersected uranium mineralization over a strike length of at least 340 metres on the Rook I property in the Athabasca Basin.
Here are some highlights of the Harpoon discovery:
- HP-16-20 (73 metres up-dip and northeast from discovery hole HP-16-08) intersected 13.5 metres at 3.94% uranium oxide including 2.5 metres at 20.90%.
- HP-16-08 (the discovery hole) intersected 17.5 metres at 3.89% uranium oxide including 2.5 metres at 12.49%.
- HP-16-13 (33 metres down-dip and southwest from HP-16-08) intersected 18.5 metres at 1.17% uranium oxide.

Garrett Ainsworth, NexGen’s VP exploration and development, said, "With only 24 drill holes, Harpoon has the potential to be a new uranium zone and speaks to how fertile the Patterson Corridor is for high grade uranium.”
NexGen’s 2017 winter drilling program is now underway and will total at least 35,000 metres.
