ONTARIO – Manitou Gold of Sudbury, ON, is preparing a plan to take a bulk sample from the high grade zone at its 100% owned Kenwest gold project. The property is 50 km south of Dryden, and the gold-bearing zones at Kenwest continue onto the company’s adjacent Canamerica property. [caption id="attachment_1003717018" align="alignright" width="261"] High grade visible gold from the No.2 shear zone at Kenwest.[/caption] The high grade zone at the historic Big Master mine No.2 shear was first discovered in 2011, when Manitou intersected 53,700 g/t Au over 0.55 metre at a vertical depth of only 35 metres. The company drilled the No.1 and No.2 shear zones over a length of about 1,000 metres and to a depth of 300 metres between 2010 and 2012. Both structures are open along strike and at depth. anitou is planning a 150-metre-long ramp structure to access the No.2 shear below the high grade zone. Test mining will proceed upward through the zone using cut and fill methods. The company has begun the permitting process as well as consultations with local stakeholders.
