ONTARIO –
Castle Silver Resources of Vancouver says the first stage bench scale metallurgical tests from potential Beaver mine potential ore, its tailings and the tailings from the Castle mine resulted in good recoveries and concentrate grades.
SGS Canada performed the tests at its lab in Quebec City.
The former Beaver silver-cobalt mine (100% owned) is located in Cobalt. It was operated by Beaver Consolidated Mines from 1907 to 1940. Agnico Eagle operated it from 1977 to 1988. During its two lives, the mine produced more than 7.1 million oz of silver and 139,000 lb of Cobalt.
The Castle silver mine (100% owned) in Gowganda, 85 km northwest of Cobalt. Between 1917 and 1989 it produced more than 9.5 million oz of silver and 300,000 lb of cobalt. There are three shafts on the property..

Results from the metallurgical tests of all samples include silver and cobalt recoveries of 98.5% and 70.5%, respectively. Concentrate graded 22,876 g/t Ag and 10.5% Co using a conventional floatation process. The Beaver tailings produced a con of 1,379 g/t Ag and 0.04% Co, and the Castle tails produced a con grading 308 g/t Ag and 0.08% Co with gravity recovery.
Last November the company was encouraged by assays of grab samples from the two tailings ponds. The Beaver material returned 134.78 g/t Ag and 1.12 g/t Au; the Castle material returned91.36 g/t Ag.
