ONTARIO – Toronto’s Red Pine Exploration continues to evaluate the Wawa gold project close to the town of the same name. Recent results point toward newly discovered broad zones of mineralization in the hanging wall of the Surluga deposit. The company has been resampling historic drill core and finding grades to be measurably higher than previously determined. Retested hole 247 returned 1.30 g/t Au over 56.92 metres and 0.83 g/t over 21.18 metres in the Minto B shear zone. Hole 0722L5 returned 1.77 g/t Au over 51.21 metres and 4.29 g/t over 14.63 metres in the Jubilee shear zone. (photo: Red Pine Exploration)[/caption] Red Pine says it has identified several sampling gaps in the historic core it has re-examined, and that closing such gaps will boost the total resource. Using a cut-off grade of 2.5 g/t, the total inferred resource was believed to 4.32 million tonnes grading 4.09 g/t Au and containing 583,419 oz of gold. Portions of the resource could be recoverable using an open pit. Additional information is posted at www.RedPineExp.com.
