URANIUM: Arrow returns high grade gold as well as U3O8 for NexGen

SASKATCHEWAN – Vancouver’s NexGen Energy is enjoying bonus high grades at its Arrow deposit, the most promising part of the Rook I uranium project on the southwest rim of the Athabasca Basin. Not only are very high uranium grades being recorded, but assays from drilling have returned up to 90.4 g/t Au and 418 g/t Ag. [caption id="attachment_1003714896" align="alignright" width="217"] Arrow A2 high grade domain.[/caption] Gold and silver values were found in cores from the A2 shear along with the high grade uranium mineralization. Half-metre samples were tested, and some had no detectable precious metals. Other notable assays include 9.5 metres of 7.9 g/t Au and 20.4 metres of 1.9 g/t. NexGen noted that the samples had very low concentrations of arsenic, antimony, selenium or other deleterious elements. High grade uranium assays from the A2 shear domain included the following:

• 25.0 metres at 6.38% U₃O₈, including 10.0 metres at 14.66%;
• 39.0 metres at 2.10% U₃O₈, including 18.5 metres at 4.27%;
• 31.0 metres at 3.26% U₃O₈, including 18.0 m at 5.58% and 6.5 m at 10.89%; and
• 24.0 m at 4.40% U₃O₈, including 3.5 m at 29.15%.

As for uranium assays from two holes in the A2 sub-zone, they were high, too:

• 23.0 metres at 17.19% U₃O₈, including 9.5 metres at 39.82% and 5.0 metres at 49.27%; and
• 44.5 metres at 8.85% U₃O₈, including 19.0 metres at 20.40% and 5.0 metres at 39.52%.

NexGen’s Rook I project is adjacent to the Patterson Lake South project where Fission Uranium has outlined an indicated resource of 2.3 million tonnes averaging 1.58% U₃O₈ and 0.51 g/t Au plus an inferred resource of 901,000 tonnes averaging 1.3% U₃O₈ and 0.56 g/t Au.
