ONTARIO –
Wesdome Gold Mines of Toronto is encouraged by underground drilling results at its Eagle River gold mine near Wawa. Drilling in the western part of the mine has traced the No.7 zone 150 metres up-plunge to the 900 metre level. The zone remains open above.
Six holes are of particular interest, especially as one assayed almost 20 g/t:
- Hole 900-E-75: 14.82 g/t Au over 3.37 metres true width
- Hole 900-E-78: 13.63 g/t Au over 5.50 metres true width
- Hole 900-E-79: 13.97 g/t Au over 6.22 metres true width
- Hole 900-E-81: 19.57 g/t Au over 2.95 metres true width
- Hole 900-E-82: 9.72 g/t Au over 4.71 metres true width
- Hole 900-E-84: 7.09 g/t Au over 7.49 metres true width
The mineralization at Eagle River is hosted by east-west, steeply north dipping laminated quartz veins in a quartz diorite stock that has been traced over an area 2.0 km long by 0.5 km wide. Geologists recently recognized two new parallel structures to the north, the No.7 and No.300 zones. The No.7 zone has the highest grades, averaging 11.4 g/t. Production from the No.300 zone where grades average 9.0 g/t, began in 2015.
Wesdome plans to add two more underground drills to further test the No.7 zone. More information is posted at
