ONTARIO – Good news from the Sunday Lake PGM-Ni-Cu property 25 km north of Thunder Bay. Partners
Transition Metals of Sudbury, ON, (25%) and
Impala Platinum Holdings (75%) report drilling a core 42.90 metres long and averaging 3.43 g/t PGM (Pt+Pd+Au) including 10.10 metres that graded 5.61 g/t PGM associated with basal contact mineralization.
The results – the longest and strongest from the property – are from a new high grade zone that appears to be hosted in a topographical depression associated with the basal contact and open in all directions, according to Transition Metals.
Transition Metals president & CEO Scott McLean said, "The overall PGM grades we are seeing are comparable to those being commercially exploited at the nearby Lac des Isles mine except that the mineralization at Sunday Lake contains significantly higher concentrations of platinum as well as an appreciable amount of nickel and copper."
