ONTARIO – Toronto-based Detour Gold Corp. reports that eight diamond drill holes have confirmed the continuity of high grade gold mineralization in the Lower Detour Lake area, about 6 km south of the Detour Lake gold mine in northern Ontario.
Six of the eight holes returned significant gold mineralization. Here are highlights from five of them:
To date the mineralized zone at Lower Detour Lake has been tested over a strike length of 450 metres by 16,465 metres of drilling. There is a higher grade portion approximately 250 metres along strike and from surface to a depth of 550 metres. The zone is open at depth and down plunge to the east.
Detour Gold has plans for a $5-million, infill drilling program of 50 holes totaling 30,000 metres this summer to assess the underground potential of what it is calling zone 58N.
A drill hole location map and cross sections are posted on the company's website under Projects/Detour Lake Exploration:Regional.
