RICHMOND, British Columbia – Wenco International Mining Systems and Hitachi Consulting of have teamed up to offer a new service aimed at improving operations at open pits.
This new service is in response to clients' request to know how their operations compare and contrast with their peers, and guidelines on which parts of the operations they should improve. The service includes a maturity assessment of the overall pit dispatch and fleet management operation against an industry benchmark, as well as an improvement support service to help pit operations teams raise their overall performance.
First, the maturity of a client's dispatch operations is reviewed. This includes data analysis for opportunities to capture greater value from the dispatch systems and peer analysis. Clients come away with quantification of potential for improvement, an improvement roadmap and goals, as well as a business case for an overhaul of your dispatch operations.
Second, Hitachi Consulting designs a plan to improve immature dispatch processes. This includes a detailed project design and implementation schedule. Hitachi will design processes and management systems to drive behaviour change.
Third, the plan to change processes and behaviours is implemented. This includes implementing processes and performance management systems, realising the defined financial and operational goals and delivery of operation results.
Finally, Hitachi gives clients the tools to sustain change by embedding a management control and reporting system to sustain change. The goal is the sustainability of new work methods into each level of the organization.
