MONTREAL – The Quebec Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l'environnement (BAPE) will hold public hearings in Montreal on Dec. 15, 2014, concerning the fate of the province's uranium industry.
Two sessions are scheduled. In the afternoon, aboriginal nations from southern Quebec will address the commission. In the evening, briefs will be heard from aboriginal nations of northern Quebec. The hearings will be held in the Salle Ovation at the Hyatt Regency Montreal at 1 pm and 7 pm.
This will mark the end of public hearings, and the BAPE inquiry commission will then chair with the James Bay Advisory Committee on the Environment and the Kativik Environmental Advisory Committee commission.
The Montreal sessions will be broadcast live on the BAPE website (BAPE.gouv.qc.ca).
