ONTARIO – Superior Copper Corp. of Toronto reports 8.27 metres of 1.18% Cu from the summer drill program at its Superior copper project 85 km north of Sault Ste. Marie.
The assay came from diamond drill hole SPC-14-08 that intersected three intervals of over 1% Cu occurring between 852.42 and 945.55 metres deep. The section mentioned above included 16.50% Cu over 0.5 metres. Gold and silver values were also reported.
In September 2014, the company reported 2.22% Cu over 8.06 metres.
Superior Copper says the mineralization occurs as fracture controlled chalcopyrite with minor bornite in mafic volcanics and as semi-massive to massive chalcopyrite in an intensely silicified host rock.
