QUEBEC – Maudore Minerals of Val d'Or, QC, and its operating subsidiary Aurbec Mines have decided to shut down the Sleeping Giant mine and mill 75 km north of Amos. The property will be placed on care and maintenance by the end of this month.

The Maudore board made the decision on Nov. 6, 2014, in light of the company's financial position and the falling gold price.
